1. Introduction

This Privacy Policy describes how SmartZonesIndicators ("we", "our" or "the Publisher") handles the information of users of the Lazo mobile app and the website https://getlazo.web.app (together, "the Services").

Lazo is the external memory of the relationships you care about — what you entrust to it is intimate by nature. This policy is deliberately short and accurate: it describes what the app actually does, nothing more.

Lazo's founding principle: your data lives on your iPhone, not with us. The app works without an account, and the Publisher runs no server that would receive your data.

3. Data you entrust to the app

Everything below is entered or chosen by you and stored locally on your iPhone:

  • Relationships: the first name of each relationship you add to Lazo, the important dates you choose, the contact rhythm you set and the last exchange you log yourself.
  • Opt-in details: one phone number or email per relationship, only if you provide them, to pre-fill your messages.
  • Memories: the photos, videos, voice notes and text you attach to a relationship.
  • Contact photo: the photo from the Contacts card you choose, used as the relationship's avatar.

We collect nothing automatically. No account, no analytics, no tracker, no ads, no location. Lazo does not read your calls, texts or WhatsApp — the last contact is always logged by you.

4. Targeted permissions

Lazo never requests blanket access. Each permission is triggered by an explicit action:

  • Contacts: only the card you pick in the system picker is read — never your whole address book.
  • Photos: the out-of-process system picker only passes on the photos and videos you choose.
  • Microphone: only while recording a voice memo you start.
  • Notifications: reminders are local notifications, scheduled on your iPhone. By default they show no name; an opt-in setting can display the relationship's name and photo.

5. On-device processing

Lazo's intelligent features run entirely on your iPhone, using Apple technologies: voice-memo transcription and message-suggestion generation (Apple Intelligence). Nothing is sent to the Publisher or a third-party server for this.

6. Optional iCloud sync

In the app's settings you can enable syncing of your data to your private iCloud (Apple's private CloudKit database). This option is off by default.

When enabled, your data is encrypted and tied to your iCloud account under Apple's terms. The Publisher has no access to it. You can turn it off at any time.

7. Data sharing

We sell no data. The app contains no ads and no trackers. No data is transmitted to the Publisher or to third parties.

Payment: the Lazo+ subscription and lifetime purchase are handled by the App Store (Apple). We neither see nor store any payment details.

Sending messages: when you use the action bridge (Messages, WhatsApp, call), Lazo pre-fills and the chosen app takes over — nothing is ever sent without your action.

8. Retention, export and deletion

Your data stays on your iPhone for as long as you keep it there.

  • Export: a built-in JSON export (Settings → Export my data) gives you all of your data, free, subscriber or not.
  • Deletion: you can delete a relationship or all data directly in the app (Settings → Delete all data), free, at any time.

9. Your rights

Under the GDPR / UK GDPR you have rights of access, rectification, erasure, portability and objection. As your data lives on your device, the app exercises them directly: export covers access and portability, editing covers rectification, deletion covers erasure.

10. Security

Your data benefits from the iPhone's protections (device encryption, app sandbox) and, if you enable sync, from Apple's iCloud encryption. No storage method is 100% secure; running no server remains the best protection we can offer.

Lazo is intended for adults. The names and memories that appear in the app are entered by the user, under their responsibility.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy. Changes will be posted on this page with a new update date. For any substantial change, we will inform you in the app.
